AI Policy

Sociopoliticool recognizes that AI can improve writing workflows. At the same time, AI-generated content presents risks related to accuracy, plagiarism, and misinformation. This policy establishes how AI may be used responsibly.

Acceptable uses of AI

Contributors may use AI tools to assist with brainstorming ideas, developing outlines, improving grammar and readability, generating headlines, summarizing information, or refining drafts. AI may serve as a productivity tool, but it should support, not replace, the contributor’s own research, analysis, and judgment.

Unacceptable uses of AI

Contributors may not submit AI-generated content without substantial human review and revision. AI should not be used to fabricate sources, quotations, statistics, interviews, citations, or other information that can’t be independently verified.

Editorial oversight

All articles and other content published by Sociopoliticool, whether written by in-house writers or contributors, must be reviewed and approved by a human editor.

Editors may request revisions, additional verification, or source documentation for content that appears heavily AI-generated. The editorial team reserves the right to reject submissions that don’t meet the publication’s standards.
